MIKE M. GABRAWY
Executive Producer
In the past ten years, Mike Gabrawy has written, directed and/or produced nine short films and has worked in various positions on feature films. Beginning in 1995, he worked for three years as a producer/development executive at Constantin Film, where he played an integral role in such projects as Wrongfully Accused, Silver Surferand Resident Evil. In 1998, Gabrawy left Constantin to pursue independent filmmaking full-time. Most recently, he has produced the cult favorite ...And Other Urban Myths with Aaron Skalka, co-produced the experimental feature Green and Dimming, and line-produced the dramedy East of A, featuring Adam Arkin, David Alan Grier, Mary McCormack and Camryn Manheim. He also produced the feature film All You Need, starring Kellie Martin. Keith is a graduate of Columbia College Chicago. He moved to Los Angeles in 1995 where he worked as an assistant cameraman on a wide range of films (SLC Punk!, Dish Dogs), while shooting frequent projects to establish himself as a director of photography. Gary graduated from the University of California, Irvine, with a degree in Film Studies in 1997. Throughout college, he participated in the 3rd and 5th Annual Staged Screenplay Readings and completed a short film. In lieu of a graduate film program, Gary enrolled in a production class and learned by doing. He wrote, directed and produced the 76 min., $7600 project, Robberies & Romantics. More recently, he made the short film phones (Seattle International Film Festival 2001, Hollywood Shorts). His latest effort In My Life marks his feature film debut.
DEREK SHIMODA Producer Derek is a filmmaker currently residing in the Los Angeles area. He produced the short film Secret Asian Man which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival 2000. Subsequently, he served as a producer on the feature film In My Life, and also wrote, directed, and produced the short Autonomous Soul (Pan African Film Festival 2002, Visual Communications Film Festival 2002).
